Weigh-Scale Integration

SAP introduced the Packing Station Transaction (HUPAST) in version 4.6 of  SAP ERP. Now for the first time there is a SAP certified integration available to  interface weighing-equipment.

ERP-Scale provides the link between SAP ERP and the weighing device. It combines all the configuration settings for both the serial communication and the RFC connection in one robust package without the need to set registry settings or use command-line options.

As ERP-Scale communicates directly with R/3 using an RFC connection provided in the standard  SAP system, there is no need for SAP scale_for_r3 utility.

* The trial version is fully functioning, however the weight returned to SAP will have the digits scrambled.
Use in Custom Developments
SAP supports integrated weighing in the packing station transaction (HUPAST), however using the RFC HU_GET_RFC_DATA you can incorporate weigh scale integration in any custom development. Our customers have already used ERP-Scale to integrate weighbridge and volumetric devices using ERP-Scale.
Multiple Protocols

Further, ERP-Scale supports a full range of settings to control communication with the weighing device using serial communication (RS-232). It also supports scales that use TCP or UDP for communication, and Serial-Ethernet device servers.

New: From ERP-Scale V3.0.5 USB enabled scales such as the Mettler PS60 are supported.

Even though ERP-Scale has been designed for weighing devices, any equipment that supports serial communication can be used.

Advanced Communication

Most weighing devices transmit the current weight continuously, however ERP-Scale can also transmit a request for data to the device.

Incoming data can be filtered and parsed using RP-Scale's easy to understand rules. Either fixed length input strings can be used, or a termination character. Data cleansing parameters can be defined and a built-in serial port monitor allows the settings to be tested without the use of further utilities.

ERP-Scale can also detect motion on the weighing device, and settings include timeouts for movement on the scale.

  1. Download and install ERP-Scale.
  2. Configure the SAP packing station profile and RFC destination.
  3. Import the SAP configuration into ERP-Scale and define the weighing device communication parameters.

Finished,  integrated weighing direct from HUPAST is enabled!
